UCSD's 119-bed John M. and Sally B. Thornton Hospital and Perlman Ambulatory Care Center opened in the summer of 1993. Thornton Hospital is a general medical-surgical facility that also offers a full range of services, including general and specialty surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, neurology, orthopedics, oncology, pediatrics, reproductive medicine and pulmonary medicine in a comfortable, patient-centered environment. Specialty outpatient services are based at the adjacent Perlman Ambulatory Care Center, along with pharmacy and radiology services.
